September 1-7 / Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup
Porto Cervo, Italy
47 of the world’s largest race boats (plus another six not racing) are gathered in Porto Cervo for the start of the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. This year’s event marks the 30th edition of this most famous of maxi yacht events, organised between the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and the International Maxi Association, the World Sailing-recognized body that represents and promotes maxi boat racing globally. As usual the maxis are gathered to compete around the craggy sandstone rocks of the La Maddalena archipelago and its notorious ‘Bomb Alley’ – one of the world’s most exceptional race areas.
September 10-15 / Cannes Yachting Festival
Cannes, France
Since 1977, the Yachting Festival takes place every September in elegant, luxurious surroundings in the sparkling bay of Cannes. As the first show in the boating season, the Yachting Festival is Europe’s leading in-water boating event. The major players in pleasure yachting come here to launch the show season by showcasing their new worldwide models.
September 11-15 /Monaco Classic Week
Monte-Carlo, Monaco
The first edition organized by the Yacht Club de Monaco took place in 1984. Today the Monaco Classic Week is considered the most elegant event for classic Yacht and certainly one of the most glamour in the regatta season of the Mediterranean. This year the Principality of Monaco will celebrate the United States of America and their Sailing Traditions and it will do it by hosting one of the race Schooner Cup Series.
September 13 / Rihanna’s Diamond Ball
New York, USA
Rihanna’s Diamond Ball returns this September, with Pharrell and DJ Khaledserving as the entertainment for the fifth annual gala. The Diamond Ball benefits Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation, which funds education and emergency response programs around the world.
September 14 – 15 / Muse
The O2 Arena, London
